On May 21, 2018, at the 28th Annual Lamplighter Awards Gala held in Southbridge, Massachusetts, the New England Society for Healthcare Communications (NESHCo) honored 67 hospitals, healthcare facilities and marketing agencies for excellence in marketing, public relations and communications. During the evening, seven of Jennings’ New England-based healthcare clients won a total of 47 awards. Spectrum Healthcare Partners of Portland, Maine was among the big winners of the night, taking home 17 awards. The evening’s top award – the Best of New England – was presented to Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, MA with Jennings for their “Lawrence General Today” brand elevation campaign.
Other winners among Jennings’ clients include Signature Healthcare, Emerson Hospital, New Hampshire Hospital Association, Southwestern Vermont Health Care, and Copley Hospital.
The Owen J. McNamara Award for excellence in writing was presented to Jennings’ lead copwriter, Steve Olshansky, for Spectrum Healthcare Partners’ Employee Brand Affirmation Cards. The entry was selected from the winners of the NESHCo Lamplighter Awards writing categories. The award is a tribute to the late Owen J. McNamara, a NESHCo member who, in his career as a newspaper reporter and editor, senior public affairs manager at Boston University’s medical center and author, set the standard for clear, concise yet elegant writing that recognized the audience and context.
Notably, Jennings’ work won gold in a number of categories including Digital Marketing, Print Advertising, Outdoor Advertising, Feature Article, Brand Advertising Campaign, Video Production, Photography, Internal Communications, Excellence in Writing, Blog Post, Social Media (Blog/Vlog), Special Purpose Publication, TV Production, and Physician Recruitment, Retention and Referral Generation.
The Lamplighters were established to showcase and honor excellence in healthcare communications throughout the New England region.
