Jennings Launches Moms, Dads & Docs Blog
LAWRENCE, MA – January 31, 2014 – Six local moms and two local dads have been selected as featured bloggers for the new Moms, Dads and Docs Blog, www.momsdadsanddocs.com, sponsored by Lawrence General Hospital and Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. The parent bloggers were selected through a contest sponsored by the two organizations, in which parents were encouraged to post a written narrative explaining why they would be a great blogger.
Although blog readers can expect to find an abundance of helpful health information, topics are not limited to healthcare. The blog will feature posts about local kid-friendly restaurants and movies, childcare, summer camps, schools, community events and anything else of interest to area parents.
“Today’s busy parents thrive on exchanging ideas and connecting with each other. Whether it’s about the latest toys, balancing life and work schedules, new learning activities, the latest movies and music for kids, or sharing recipes – they love to learn from one another. This blog is a great, simple way to do all that and more,” said Lawrence General Hospital Marketing and Communications Manager Vanessa Kortze.
Each blogger will write one to two posts a month beginning in late January. The topics will vary greatly, depending on the personalities of the bloggers and their range of daily experiences in the community. The bloggers will meet in person twice a year at ‘blogger brunches’ to share ideas and brainstorm upcoming topics. There also will be guest posts by physicians who will provide valuable and timely healthcare information to the readers.
