Mommy Blogger on the Rise

Mommy BlogI’ve written posts in the past about mommy bloggers in healthcare (Check out and With the rise of social media, blogging has become a popular form of self-expression. American mothers have taken to the blogosphere in huge numbers. A new report from eMarketer says the number of mommy bloggers is expected to increase from 3.7 million last year to 3.9 million this year. eMarketer predicts the number of mommy bloggers in the U.S. will rise to 4.4 million in 2014.

eMarketer points out that although the number of mommy bloggers is expected to increase, the rise is modest because Facebook and Twitter have taken some of the momentum away from blogging. The report also finds that mothers of small children are more likely than women in general to be Internet users. Mommy bloggers don’t just write blogs, they read them too.
